ColiMac

ColiMac is a water-soluble powder containing Colistin Sulphate, a potent polypeptide antibiotic. It is specifically designed to combat Gram-negative bacteria, particularly E. coli and Salmonella spp., which are commonly responsible for enteritis (diarrhea), colibacillosis, and salmonellosis in poultry. ColiMac has a low toxicity profile when administered orally, ensuring a high level of safety while providing effective treatment against antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains.

Each gram contains:

  • Colistin Sulphate – 25,00,000 IU

ColiMac is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Enteritis (Diarrhea) caused by E. coli

  • Colibacillosis

  • Salmonellosis

  • Other Gram-negative bacterial infections in poultry

ColiMac works by using Colistin Sulphate, a polypeptide antibiotic that disrupts the bacterial cell membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. It specifically targets E. coli and Salmonella spp., which are known for developing resistance to other antibiotics. By binding to the bacterial membrane, Colistin causes cell leakage, resulting in bacterial death. ColiMac is highly effective against resistant bacterial strains and has low toxicity when used orally, making it safe for poultry treatment.

Poultry:

  • 1 gm per 5 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days

  • 1 gm per 50 kg live weight

  • Body weight equivalent to 19500 IU per 1 mg (2-5 mg per kg) body weight

  • Medicated water should be used within 24 hours

  • Broad-spectrum activity: Targets E. coli and Salmonella spp. effectively.

  • Safe for poultry: Low toxicity by oral route.

  • Treats bacterial infections: Highly effective against enteritis, colibacillosis, and salmonellosis.

  • Fast-acting: Works quickly to reduce bacterial load and symptoms.

  • Cost-effective: Provides effective treatment with a low toxicity profile.
