Colis 500

Colis 500 is a water-soluble powder containing Colistin Sulphate, a potent polymyxin antibiotic that offers effective bactericidal action against Gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella, and Clostridia. Colis 500 is specifically formulated to treat gastrointestinal (GI) infections, as Colistin is absorbed minimally in the intestines, making it ideal for treating enteric infections. It is commonly used in poultry, calves, sheep, and goats to manage bacterial enteritis and related conditions.

Each gram contains:

  • Colistin Sulphate – 5.00 MIU

Colis 500 is recommended for the treatment of:

  • Bacterial Enteritis

  • Diarrhea

  • Gastrointestinal (GI) infections caused by:

    • E. coli

    • Salmonella spp.

    • Shigella

  • Clostridial infections

Colis 500 works through the action of Colistin Sulphate, which is a polymyxin antibiotic with bactericidal properties. It targets Gram-negative bacteria, disrupting the bacterial cell membrane, leading to cell death. Colistin is absorbed in very small quantities in the intestines, making it highly effective for treating gastrointestinal infections. It is particularly useful in poultry, calves, sheep, and goats suffering from enteric diseases caused by pathogens like E. coli and Salmonella.
