Doxyben

Doxyben is a water-soluble powder that combines two potent antibiotics: Tylosin Tartrate and Doxycycline Hyclate. This dual-action formulation is designed to treat complex respiratory and gastrointestinal infections in poultry and small animals, effectively targeting pathogens such as E. coli, Salmonella, Haemophilus, and others. The combination of Tylosin (a macrolide) and Doxycycline (a tetracycline) ensures broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, making it highly effective in treating various bacterial infections.

Each 100 gm powder contains:

  • Tylosin Tartrate – 10 gm

  • Doxycycline Hyclate – 21 gm

Doxyben is indicated for:

  • Complex respiratory infections

  • Gastrointestinal infections (G.I.)

  • O.R.T (Ornithobacterium Respiratory Tract infections) caused by Tylosin and Doxycycline-sensitive organisms such as:

    • Haemophilus

    • E. coli

    • Salmonella

    • Pasteurella

    • Campylobacter

    • Staphylococcus

    • Streptococcus

    • Ornithobacterium species

Doxyben combines two powerful antibiotics with complementary mechanisms:

  • Tylosin Tartrate: A macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the bacterial ribosome, effectively stopping bacterial growth. It is particularly effective against Gram-positive bacteria and certain Gram-negative pathogens.

  • Doxycycline Hyclate: A tetracycline antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria by binding to the ribosome, preventing bacterial replication. It is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli, Salmonella, and others.

The combined action of both antibiotics allows for synergistic effects, providing broad-spectrum control over respiratory and gastrointestinal bacterial infections in poultry.

Poultry & Small Animals:

  • 1-2 gm per liter of drinking water for 3-5 days

  • Medicated water should be used within 24 hours

Ensure that the medicated water is replaced daily.

  • Dual antibiotic action: Combines Tylosin and Doxycycline for a broader spectrum of antibacterial activity.

  • Fast and effective: Treats complex respiratory and gastrointestinal infections quickly.

  • Water-soluble: Easy to administer via drinking water.

  • Low toxicity: Safe for use in poultry and small animals with minimal risk of side effects when used as directed.

  • Ideal for mixed infections: Effective against a wide range of bacteria, including those resistant to other treatments.
