Pen-Clox

Pen-Clox is a powerful combination antibiotic designed to provide enhanced antibacterial coverage in veterinary use. It contains Ampicillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin that targets a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis. It is paired with Cloxacillin, a penicillinase-resistant penicillin that is especially effective against penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus and other resistant Gram-positive bacteria. Together, these two agents offer reliable treatment for various infections, including those caused by resistant strains.

Each mL contains:

  • Ampicillin (as trihydrate) – 100 mg

  • Cloxacillin (as sodium) – 50 mg

Recommended for use in cattle, buffaloes, horses, calves, sheep, and goats for the treatment of:

  • Gastrointestinal infections

  • Respiratory infections, including bronchial and lung infections

  • Urogenital infections, including metritis and mastitis

  • Septicemia

  • Wound and skin infections

Pen-Clox Injection works by combining two powerful antibiotics—Ampicillin and Cloxacillin—to deliver broad and effective antibacterial action.

Ampicillin targets a wide range of bacteria by blocking the formation of bacterial cell walls, leading to their destruction.

Cloxacillin is specifically effective against penicillin-resistant bacteria, such as Staphylococcus, and resists breakdown by bacterial enzymes (penicillinases).

Together, they provide strong, fast-acting treatment against both common and resistant infections.

Route: Deep intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection (Shake well before use)

Cattle, Buffaloes, Horses, Calves, Sheep & Goats:

  • 1 mL per 10 kg body weight

  • Once or twice daily, depending on severity

Poultry:

  • 0.15 mL per kg body weight

  • Broad-spectrum antibiotic – Effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria

  • Targets resistant bacteria – Cloxacillin works against penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus

  • Enhanced effectiveness – Combination therapy provides stronger antibacterial action

  • Treats various infections – Suitable for respiratory, skin, soft tissue, and bone infections

  • Fast-acting – Injectable form ensures quick absorption and therapeutic response

  • Veterinary use – Effective in treating infections like mastitis in livestock

  • Ideal for mixed infections – Covers a wide range of bacterial types in a single treatment
