Pri-Bacstin
Pri-Bacstin is a potent antibacterial combination of amoxicillin and colistin, designed to treat a wide range of gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary tract infections in poultry and small ruminants. Its dual-mode action ensures rapid recovery from bacterial diseases caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens.
Each 100 gm powder contains:
Amoxicillin as Amoxicillin Trihydrate – 20.000 gm
Colistin Sulphate – 50 million IU
Pri-Bacstin is indicated in poultry and small ruminants for:
Gastrointestinal infections caused by E. coli, Salmonella, and Clostridium spp.
Respiratory infections such as CRD and fowl cholera
Urinary tract infections caused by susceptible pathogens
Mixed infections involving Campylobacter, Corynebacterium, Haemophilus, and Streptococcus spp.
Amoxicillin, a β-lactam antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to lysis of susceptible organisms. Colistin, a polymyxin antibiotic, disrupts the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, increasing permeability and leading to bacterial death. Together, they provide synergistic bactericidal activity against a wide range of pathogens.
Poultry (Water): 1 gm in 2 liters of drinking water or 0.11–0.22 gm per kg body weight for 3–5 days
Feed: 20 gm per 100 kg of feed for 3–5 days
Note: Prepare a pre-solution of 1 kg Pri-Bacstin in 20 liters of water before adding to the main drinking system.
