Primox 50%
Primox 50% is a concentrated amoxicillin-based water-soluble antibiotic specially developed for fast and effective treatment of bacterial infections in poultry and calves. Its high potency ensures targeted control of respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases caused by susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens.
Each 100 gm contains:
Amoxicillin (as Amoxicillin Trihydrate) – 50.00 gm
Primox 50% is indicated in poultry and calves for:
Respiratory infections including CRD and coryza
Gastrointestinal infections such as enteritis and diarrhea caused by E. coli, Salmonella, Clostridium
Bacterial pneumonia and pasteurellosis
Fowl typhoid and other systemic bacterial diseases
Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum β-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in cell death. It is particularly effective against actively dividing bacteria and offers high absorption and distribution in tissues, leading to rapid clinical improvement in respiratory and digestive tract infections.
Route: Oral (via drinking water or feed)
Poultry: 10–20 mg/kg body weight or 1 gm in 5–10 liters of water for 3–5 days
Feed (Poultry): 20 gm per 100 kg feed for 3–5 days
Calves: 20–40 mg/kg body weight or 1–2 gm per 50 kg body weight in water or milk replacer for 3–5 days
