Primox 70% is a high-potency amoxicillin formulation designed for effective treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections in poultry and young livestock. Its broad-spectrum bactericidal activity ensures rapid control of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including those causing secondary infections during viral outbreaks.

Each 100 gm contains:

  • Amoxicillin Trihydrate – 80.00 gm
(equivalent to 70.00 gm of Amoxicillin base)

Primox 70% is indicated in poultry, fowls, turkeys, and calves for:

  • Bacterial enteritis, coliform septicemia, and fowl cholera

  • Chronic respiratory disease (CRD) and pullet disease

  • Infections caused by E. coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Proteus, Staphylococci, and Streptococci

  • Prevention of secondary bacterial infections during viral illnesses

Amoxicillin is a β-lactam antibiotic that disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to lysis and cell death. Its high bioavailability and stability in water make it ideal for mass medication through drinking water or feed, ensuring consistent therapeutic levels in infected animals.

Route: Oral (via drinking water or feed)

Poultry, Fowls, Turkeys, Calves:

  • 0.1–0.2 gm per 10 kg body weight

  • Treatment: 1 gm in 5 liters of water for 3–5 days

  • Prevention: 1 gm in 10 liters of water for 3–5 days

Feed:

  • Up to 4 weeks of age: 12–24 gm per 100 kg of feed

  • Over 4 weeks: 20–40 gm per 100 kg of feed

Calves (milk):

  • 1–2 gm in 10 liters of milk

  • High-concentration amoxicillin for strong therapeutic effect

  • Rapid action against a broad spectrum of bacteria

  • Supports recovery during viral infections by preventing secondary bacterial complications

  • Suitable for multiple species including poultry and calves

  • Can be administered through both water and feed
